However, once it is started again and operates normally, there is no more liquid leakage. I’m wondering if there might be negative pressure inside the pump, which could draw in air and pose a certain safety risk. Since the internal structure is not very clear, please give some guidance.

What medium is used in the pump? The mechanical seal also needs to be cooled! Leakage of the mechanical seal when the pump is stopped, but normal operation when the pump is started, indicates severe wear of the friction pairs in the mechanical seal, or that the elastic elements of the mechanical seal have become stuck with dirt and lost their elasticity Conduct an inspection; replace the mechanical seal if necessary. The compression amount must be appropriate, as too high a value will cause rapid wear of the friction pairs in the mechanical seal!
For general vacuum pumps, the sealing types used for double-end face mechanical seals are mostly 53a and 53b; it is possible to check whether the liquid level in the sealing tank has dropped; If there is indeed a leak in the seal, it must be replaced; otherwise air will be drawn into the pump, and in the most severe cases, an explosion can occur····
