Dear experts, as the title suggests: Our company’s plant consists of a vacuum distillation tower and a primary distillation tower for pretreatment purposes. Originally, it was designed to process crude oil; now, however, it processes residue oil. As we all know, residue oil is dirty and contains many impurities. Consequently, the off-gas at the top of the vacuum distillation tower contains numerous impurities, salt deposits, and a relatively high sulfur content. The Roots vacuum pump set we use (model 300-600-1800) frequently suffers from impurities getting into its rotors; this results in excessive noise and high current consumption.
