What requires balance verification for couplings, and are there any standards? How is it done exactly? Is it done together with the shaft?

Each fastener on the coupling should be weighed, and the differences in their weights must meet the specified standards. The larger components should be balanced individually before the whole assembly is balanced. Details are clearly outlined in section 2.5 of API671 – please refer to that
It’s best to make the problem concrete and specify what exactly needs to be solved. There are many types of couplings; I’m not sure whether you are a user or a manufacturer. If it’s for a business, just use it. Usually, specialized couplings are supplied directly by the equipment manufacturers along with the equipment. For general-purpose equipment, there’s not much to say about it – they are all standard components.
Couplings are generally supplied as complete sets, so requirements regarding imbalance levels are also set before they leave the factory
Generally speaking, couplings are standard components; the owner only needs to place an order. The equipment manufacturer will request that the coupling manufacturer provide the corresponding test reports, including those related to dynamic balance
For coupling balance adjustment, we generally refer to the alignment adjustment of the pump coupling and the electrical coupling

Ordinary couplings do not require dynamic balancing, but those used at high speeds do; if possible, this balancing should be done along with the shaft. Do it separately without any conditions, taking the keyway into account.
