I would like to ask: what effects might there be if water is being pumped in during the startup process of this self-priming pump?
Why not inject water with the pump turned off?

Once the volume is increased, there’s no need to keep it submerged; it doesn’t matter if it’s not submerged.
This vertical self-priming pump does not require water to be filled into it, but it is essential that the inlet piping and solenoid valve have good sealing properties with no leaks; otherwise, the vacuum creation process will take a very long time or the pump won’t be able to draw in water at all!
