PLAN11 52 62: Why does the level in the sump tank drop when a spare pump is available? The top exhaust valve is closed
1. Check whether there are any leaks at the connection interfaces of the tank and at the mechanical seal interfaces. 2. The discharge valve at the top of the 52 system should be open; if it is closed, the reason for the drop in liquid level could be that the medium inside the pump is a light hydrocarbon. After the first mechanical seal leaks, this medium mixes with white oil and enters the tank. The tank, which was originally at atmospheric pressure, experiences an increase in pressure as the medium vaporizes, pushing the white oil inside the tank into the pump chamber
