My factory wants to install quenching equipment, which requires water to be pumped from a pool; the depth of such pools is usually 3 meters. The current design uses a self-priming tank, a bottom valve, and a centrifugal pump. Would it be more durable if a long-shaft pump were used with its shafts fixed at the top and bottom rather than in a cantilevered arrangement? Ease of maintenance is not a concern for now, as some factories have limited space, and a long-shaft pump can save a lot of space
Of course, the combination of a self-priming tank + bottom valve + centrifugal pump is effective and durable. The disadvantages are that it requires more space and involves more initial hassle, but it solves the problem once and for all. Long-shaft submersible pumps have a high failure rate and are quite difficult to repair; they are not recommended. The only advantage might be the smaller space they occupy.

Submersible pumps for wells are also an option to consider. However, it is necessary to ensure that the impurity levels in the water meet the requirements of the pump.

Our vertical self-priming pump occupies roughly the same space as a long-shaft pump and can be installed on top of a tank.
