The unit is equipped with multiple gear pumps, and although the sealing method was changed from original packing seals to mechanical seals, the leakage problem has not been resolved. Dependent on operating conditions, the medium is gel-like and the temperature is around 70°. If production is unstable, overpressure in the pump chamber can cause the seal spring to open, leading to leakage (or even complete failure of the seal). When the pump is not in use for extended periods, the gel-like substance in the pump chamber forms clumps, and the rotational friction between the stationary and moving parts of the seal does not provide an effective seal. Currently, this pump is testing various shaft seals in search of a good seal. I hope the experts can give some advice! ! !
Isn’t the gear pump seal installed at the suction side? Why does an increase in pump chamber pressure affect the seal? As far as I remember, there are few cases of leakage caused by pressure pushing back the spring. Since you’re using adhesive, I suspect the leakage is caused by excessive vibration of the gear pump, which leads to eccentricity between the stationary and rotating rings of the mechanical seal. In this case, I recommend using a twin-screw pump; a cam pump can also be used if the requirements regarding outlet pressure and cavitation are not high. Of course, if there are no conditions for making changes, just use a packing seal as a solution. It’s just my personal opinion; I’ll wait for other experts to share their views.
The medium is a gel-like substance; maintaining mechanical seals using it is too costly, and it can easily lead to the failure of those seals. It’s better to use packing seals instead.
Production fluctuations can cause the pressure to exceed 16 kilograms.

It is recommended that you change to a double-face mechanical seal equipped with an external flushing cooling system, ensuring that the shut-off valve does not come into contact with the mechanical seal springs
For the gel-like substance, it is sufficient to use a filler; ensure proper cooling of the filler.
The part where the machine seal is replaced features self-circulating flushing. Gel-like substances are not suitable for external rinsing. Solidifies upon contact with water.
