Parameters of one pump: head is 37.8 m, flow rate is 130 m³/h, and power is 22 kW. Parameters of the other pump: head is 50 m, flow rate is 100 m³/h, and power is 18.5 kW. I’d like to ask the experts: can the first pump be used in place of the second pump?
The metrics should indicate whether the required conditions have been met. Measuring it based on flow rate and pressure is not sufficient; it cannot serve as a substitute. For reference.
If an actual head of 37.8 m is sufficient for practical use, then it can be used as a replacement.

Looking at the curve, it’s useless to consider just one point, because the actual operation does not take place at that point
1. Check whether the requirement for transporting the fluid is that the head is within 37.8 m (or that the pressure loss is within 37.8); if so, it can be used. 2. Check whether the flow rate meets the requirements; if so, it can be used. 3. Examine the curves of the two pumps to determine their performance, the impact they have on the equipment, and their effect on the technical and economic indicators.
The parameters on the nameplate are not the operating parameters of the pump; it is necessary to determine the actual operating conditions of the first pump, and then check whether the second pump is suitable for those conditions. At the same time, it is necessary to check whether the material of the second pump meets the requirements for handling the medium under operating conditions.
Do not rely on the parameters indicated on the pump’s nameplate; instead, look at the actual operating parameters. If it matches those shown on the curve of the second pump, then it can be used as a replacement; otherwise, it cannot.
