What are multi-stage shielded pumps and pipelines used for?

Is this pipeline for exhaust? Is the valve on this closed when the pump is started? Please give some advice, experts.
This line needs to stay on; it’s used to cool the rotor.
Why is there another one here, opposite the pipe, that is also wrapped in a cooling water coil? It seems that what’s wrapped around the cooling water pipe is used to cool the rotor
This pump looks quite special; it seems to be of the type with internal pressure circulation. There are connections at both the high-pressure and low-pressure ends of the pump, leading to the motor’s rear chamber – it appears to have one inlet and one outlet. It’s different from the common pumps made in Japan or Germany; it seems to be a type of multi-stage internal pressure circulation pump produced by Nikkiso, and it’s relatively rare. It would be better to ask the manufacturer about their design approach; I can only make simple guesses
