Excuse me, does anyone know how to measure the actual output power of a pump? To determine whether the pump has reached its efficiency, this data is required
Density * Gravity acceleration * Flow rate * Head
The efficiency of a pump is the ratio of the pump’s useful power to the motor’s output power. The pump’s useful power (also known as output power) is equal to flow rate * head * acceleration due to gravity * specific gravity / 3600
Flow rate (kg/s) * total head (m) / 102
These are all theoretical values; his actual power has to overcome not only these factors but also the resistance posed by pipes and valves
The current is used to calculate the motor’s input power
Under actual operating conditions, it is very difficult to determine the precise efficiency. Flow rate, head, and the properties of the liquid at the pump’s inlet are all related to each other; the outlet conditions depend on the pipe diameter, pipeline resistance, flow velocity, as well as the alignment of the pump, and so on. It’s hard to obtain accurate values, so it’s possible to ignore certain factors and calculate using current levels, which provides a relatively accurate result.
1. The manufacturer provides a test run report. 2. Measure the motor’s current and voltage. By adding the motor efficiency, it can be estimated; moreover, the flow rate, pressure, and density at the pump outlet can be measured and calculated as well
Dynamometer torque tester. Connect it directly to the motor, and the screen reads the data directly.
