At 8:18 on April 15, the first phase of the Cornell Chemical's 600,000-ton-per-year methanol-to-olefins project was officially put into operation. The project was the first large-scale petrochemical enterprise in the country to be put into operation during the epidemic prevention and control period. Cornell Chemical's 600,000-ton methanol-to-olefins project is located in the Jilin Economic and Technological Development Zone. It officially started construction in July 2016 with a total investment of 5.3 billion yuan. The project covers an area of 310,000 square meters. It adopts the world's most advanced American UOP technology and mainly builds a 600,000-ton methanol-to-olefins production unit and supporting projects, forming an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of ethylene and 360,000 tons of propylene. The project is constructed in two phases, with the construction scale of each phase being 120,000 tons of ethylene and 180,000 tons of propylene. At present, the first phase of the project has entered the trial production stage, with an investment of 3.6 billion yuan completed.
On August 5, 2016, Cornell Chemical and Wison Engineering signed the EPC general contract for the 300,000 tons/year methanol-to-olefins unit in the first phase of the 600,000 tons/year methanol-to-olefins (MTO) project, as well as the patented technology license and process package preparation and technical service contract for the olefin separation unit. UOP's MTO+OCP technology and Wison Engineering's high-yield olefin separation technology are used. Wison Engineering is responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the methanol-to-olefins reaction and concentration unit, olefin separation unit, olefin cracking unit and some auxiliary facilities in the project.

Donghua sued Inner Mongolia Cornell, and the ethylene glycol project is currently in the auction process https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-2953844-1-1.html (Source: Huahaichuanliu-Haichuan Chemical Forum Network)
