On October 13 local time, Sinochem, Ramco Industries of India, and the Egyptian Phosphate Company gathered in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to witness the signing of a turnkey contract for a phosphate fertilizer project between Sinochem Donghua Company, Ramco Industries of India, and the Egyptian Phosphate Company. The project is located in Ain Sukhnah, Egypt, 120 kilometers from Cairo. It includes a sulfuric acid plant with a capacity of 3,100 tons per day, a DAP plant with a capacity of 1,935 tons per day, as well as supporting utility systems. It features high conversion rates, excellent energy efficiency, and is clean and pollution-free. The project is a vivid example of China and Egypt’s cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative; once completed, it will effectively facilitate the transformation of the local phosphorus chemical industry from processing primary raw materials to producing high-value-added products.
