On July 14, at a crucial moment ahead of the 2022 World Power Battery Conference, China Petroleum’s first comprehensive energy station in Sichuan Province that offers services for oil, gas, and heavy truck battery swapping – the Yibin Airport Road Station – was officially put into operation. This facility will serve as an important driving force for the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the prosperity of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic zone. The Yibin Airport Road Comprehensive Energy Station is located on National Highway 353, covering an area of 7.2 mu. It is situated at an important transportation hub on the north-south axis of Yibin City, and is connected to various national and provincial highways in Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan. Building on its existing fuel and gas refueling services, this station adds a heavy truck battery swapping service to better meet the diverse energy service needs of end customers. The heavy truck battery swapping area is equipped with 7 power batteries with a capacity of 282 kWh each, enabling it to serve 168 trucks per day. It is compatible with tractors, dump trucks, freight trucks, construction vehicles, and more. It features intelligent and automated technologies for precise battery swapping, allowing battery replacement for an electric heavy truck in as fast as 3 minutes.
“During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Yibin City will build over 8,000 fast-charging stations, 10 integrated charging stations that combine photovoltaic power, energy storage, charging, and inspection functions, and 60 swap stations for heavy trucks. By 2025, all taxis and ride-hailing vehicles in the city will be fully electric, with an estimated 3,000 electric heavy trucks to be introduced across the city. To improve energy supply security, Sichuan Sales Company of China National Petroleum Corporation will build 10 comprehensive energy stations in the Yibin area by 2025, contributing to the development of Sichuan.
