On November 20, Wutongqiao District in Leshan City and Sichuan Hebang Biotechnology Co., Ltd. successfully held a signing ceremony for the 600,000 tons per year methionine project at the Sheraton Leshan Hotel. Leaders from the city and districts of Leshan, together with He Zhenggang from the board of directors of Hobang Group, attended the event and witnessed the signing. The signing ceremony was held for the Bang 600,000 tons per year methionine project, whose total investment amounts to around 7 billion yuan. The project is located in the Wutongqiao Chemical Industrial Park in Leshan, and construction is set to begin next year. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate an annual output value of about 9 billion yuan, and it has the potential to become a major industrial hub with significant influence in the global methionine production sector. The projects under this agreement feature high technical complexity and broad market prospects, and will surely inject strong momentum into the development of a green chemical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions in Leshan. He Zhenggang, member of the board of directors of Hebang Group, expressed his gratitude to the governments at the municipal and district levels for their support. This investment builds upon the successful operation of HBang’s first methionine production line in 2021; leveraging its advantages in technology, cost efficiency, sustainability, and safety, the company aims to turn this project into a benchmark for the global methionine industry. Under the joint witness of the guests present, the representatives of both parties signed the investment agreement. The signing of this project marks a crucial step forward for HEBANG in the large-scale development of methionine. As a global leader in bisphosphonates and a leading supplier of liquid methionine in China, Hebang currently has an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons of liquid methionine. Upon completion of the new project, it will further enhance the company’s overall competitiveness in global markets, help Wutongqiao District in Leshan City become a globally influential hub for the methionine industry, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
