On April 12, the Jingneng Ulanqab 1.5-million-kilowatt \"integrated wind, solar, thermal, and hydrogen storage\" large-scale wind and solar power project, constructed by China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Thermal Power, Gezhouba Electric Power Company, and Dongdian No.1 Company, officially commenced construction. The project is located in Liangcheng County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, and is part of the **second batch of large-scale base projects for desert, gobi, and barren land areas. The area of this region is 1,028 square kilometers, with a total investment of around 9.1 billion yuan. The planned capacity is 1.5 million kilowatts; 240 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 megawatts, will be installed, along with 3 220-kilovolt step-up substations. The electricity generated by the project is transmitted via the 500-kilovolt transmission line \"Daihai-Wanquan-Shunyi\" to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region for consumption. The project is divided into three sections, each with a capacity of 500,000 kilowatts; Gezhouba Power Company, Dongdian No.1 Company, and Guangdong Thermal Power are responsible for the EPC general contracting of Sections 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Upon completion of the project, it is expected to generate approximately 3.6 billion kWh of green electricity per year, saving around 1.25 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 3.04 million tons. This will further accelerate the development of bases for supplying green electricity to Beijing, increase the proportion of renewable energy used in the city, and contribute significantly to achieving the **\"dual carbon\" goals while promoting socioeconomic development.
