Let’s give a thumbs up and cheer for the achievements made in China’s chemical technology and equipment. ********************** [Ten Years of Great Development in Chemical Equipment] This is a continuously updated summary thread; everyone is welcome to join the discussion: https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html (Source: Haichuan Chemical Forum) ***************** On April 13, 2015, reporters learned from Shenhua Group that the hot test of a rocket engine powered by liquid oxygen-coal-based aerospace kerosene—a product jointly developed by Shenhua Group and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation—was recently successful at the rocket engine testing site of the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. A responsible official from Shenhua Group stated that this is the first time in the world that coal-based kerosene has been used in the aerospace sector, marking an important milestone in the development of coal-based aerospace kerosene in China. It holds great significance for meeting the fuel needs of China’s rapidly developing aerospace industry and for diversifying the sources of aerospace fuel supply. It is understood that in 2012, China became the second country in the world to master the core technology of high-pressure afterburning cycle liquid oxygen-kerosene engines. However, the kerosene used in China’s aerospace industry must be processed from specific crude oils extracted from particular oil fields; as a result, such resources are scarce and the processing costs are high. According to Shenhua Group, its Ordos million-ton-scale coal direct liquefaction demonstration project, which features independent intellectual property rights in China, is the world’s first modern and mature project to have been validated using industrial-scale facilities. Using coal as a raw material, this project produces kerosene with characteristics such as high density, high volumetric calorific value, and high oxidation stability, making it a potential alternative fuel for aerospace kerosene. It is understood that China Shenhua Coal-to-Oil Chemical Co., Ltd. and the Sixth Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement in 2013. The two parties have carried out comprehensive technical cooperation in areas such as the research, development, and promotion of coal-based rocket kerosene as well as specialized equipment and materials for coal chemical industry, working together to develop coal-based aerospace kerosene. To date, fundamental research tasks such as the pilot production of coal-based aerospace kerosene, studies on its physicochemical properties, experiments on electrothermal transfer, and investigations into material compatibility have been completed. Two thermal tests of the generator using coal-based aerospace kerosene have also been successfully carried out. On this basis, the full-scale thermal test of the rocket engine using liquid oxygen and coal-based kerosene was successfully completed in one attempt.
Thank you for organizing and sharing the materials! Give a thumbs up and offer encouragement for the achievements of China’s chemical technology and equipment industry!
