Recently, the core crystallization reactor was successfully lifted for the Hubei Shuanghuan Alkali Conversion project, which is under the general contracting of China National Chemical Corporation Tianchen. As a major milestone in the project, the lifting and installation of the crystallizer signifies the successful completion of the lifting of the project’s large-scale equipment, marking the official entry into the peak phase of comprehensive installation work. The crystallizer is the core super-large equipment in the caustic soda process; its maximum diameter per unit is 17 meters, its height is 16.25 meters, its volume is 2,000 cubic meters, and its weight is 310 tons. The crystallization reactor is assembled by prefabricating its upper and lower sections, lifting them, and aligning them in the air. To ensure the smooth installation of the crystallizer, the project team prepared a detailed plan in advance and conducted multiple phase-based evaluations to assess the feasibility of the lifting scheme. From optimizing the on-site assembly process for the upper and lower sections to addressing any obstacles in the crane’s movement path, from accurately calculating the space required by the crane to meticulously arranging the transportation of the equipment, every aspect was carefully checked and verified. This approach enabled the team to overcome technical challenges such as limited construction space and large vertical lifting heights. At the same time, the project team, in conjunction with the owner, supervisor, and construction contractor, carefully verified the conditions for lifting. The personnel involved had clear roles and responsibilities, and they closely monitored the lifting process to ensure smooth progression of the work. Ultimately, this lifting task was completed safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
