On December 9th, Henan Sailongtu Biotechnology Co., Ltd. held a ceremony marking the mechanical completion of its project for producing 50,000 tons of anhydrous ethanol per year through one-step biofermentation using syngas. This marks the official entry of the project into the critical phase of trial production, representing an important milestone in the field of biofermentation for the production of anhydrous ethanol worldwide. Project Overview: As the world’s first industrial demonstration project, the Sailongtu anhydrous ethanol project utilizes a one-step biological fermentation process. Using CO2, CO, and H2 as raw materials, it produces anhydrous ethanol while simultaneously generating biological proteins in high efficiency. The uniqueness of this process lies in its ability to simultaneously convert syngas and carbon dioxide. Against the backdrop of global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, this process represents a highly valuable innovative example for extending and strengthening industrial chains as well as promoting green development. It is reported that this project is the world’s first industrial demonstration project introduced by Shanghai Hetu Engineering Co., Ltd., and it serves as a typical example of collaboration between the patent holder, the general contractor, and local resources. As the investor and general contractor, HeTu Project is deeply involved in the project construction. With the completion of this project, CCCC not only lays a foundation for the further development of the HeTu Project in the field of biomass utilization, but also provides impetus for expanding the scope of technological applications in this area; the HeTu Project is expected to generate more innovative achievements in the biomass sector.
