On March 6, at the Tiaohu District of the Santanghu Industrial Park in Barkol County, the site of Xinjiang Jiaguo Weiye New Energy Co., Ltd.’s project for the clean and efficient comprehensive utilization of 6 million tons of low-grade coal per year was in full activity: machines were humming and workers were busy, creating a bustling atmosphere. At present, the project for the classified and quality-based utilization of 6 million tons per year of low-grade coal, as well as the project for the hydrogenation of 600,000 tons per year of coal tar, have resumed construction in an orderly manner. As of February 25, 2025, the company’s projects for the graded and differentiated utilization of 6 million tons of low-grade coal per year, as well as the project for the hydrogenation of 600,000 tons of coal tar per year, have resumed construction in an orderly manner. The project team, along with personnel from various general contractors and subcontractors, as well as the machinery required, have all arrived at the site in accordance with the established construction plan. This project is a key construction project under the 14th Five-Year Plan, with a total investment of 7.3 billion yuan and a total land area of 1,700 mu. Leveraging the rich mineral resources of the Santanghu mining area, the project focuses on the efficient decomposition and comprehensive utilization of coal, as well as energy conservation and carbon reduction. It aims to establish a large-scale new energy chemical production base characterized by advanced technology, clean production, a complete industrial chain, and a strong emphasis on circular economy principles. To date, 90% of the groundwork for the pyrolysis plant equipment has been completed, and the equipment installation phase has begun; the primary cooling tower, electric tar catcher, ammonia separation unit, and carbonization furnace are being installed one after another. It is expected that the installation of all equipment and facilities will be completed by early July 2025. 50% of the work on the equipment foundations for the hydrogenation unit has been completed; currently, some civil engineering tasks are in progress, and equipment installation is scheduled to begin gradually at the beginning of May.
