On the morning of March 28, as colored fireworks in red, orange, yellow, and blue shot into the sky, the Dongfang Hope Group’s coal, electricity, and chemical integration project in Jundong, with a total investment of 19 billion yuan, officially commenced construction. This marks the start of another major project worth over 10 billion yuan in the Jundong development zone during the first quarter. This project integrates modern coal chemical processing with industries such as green electricity and green hydrogen. It primarily uses processes such as pressurized gasification of coal, purification, and methanol-to-olefins conversion, and is capable of converting approximately 6 million tons of raw coal locally each year, with the main products being ethylene, propylene, butylene, liquefied petroleum gas, and other similar substances. As important basic raw materials for industrial production, these products are primarily used in the petrochemical industry, plastic manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and the energy sector. They can effectively promote the development of industries at both upstream and downstream levels, and serve as a model for promoting the clean and efficient use of coal. The project that is now under construction represents a key part of Dongfang Hope Group’s development strategies in Xinjiang. It is also considered a priority construction project by the autonomous region and Changji Prefecture. This project will help improve the efficient and clean utilization of resources, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the industry, and achieve an organic balance among economic, social, and ecological benefits. It is understood that Dongfang Hope Group is a large-scale transnational private enterprise group that focuses on heavy and chemical industries, while also engaging in diverse activities such as agriculture and commercial real estate, with these areas developing in a coordinated manner. It ranked 27th on the 2024 list of the top 500 private manufacturing enterprises in China. This year, the Zhundong Development Zone has set the goal of \"focusing on 40 billion yuan and working hard for 300 days,\" and has launched a campaign to improve the business environment. For the 152 key projects with a total investment of over 440 billion yuan, it adopts a \"list-based management approach, phased progress tracking, and differentiated evaluation methods\" to accelerate construction progress, thereby helping to push the modern coal chemical industry in the Zhundong Development Zone toward a path of higher quality, lower carbon emissions, and greater diversity.
