Recently, the main structure of the building complex in the plant area of the Yan’an LNG storage and peak-shaving project operated by Yanchang Petroleum was successfully completed, thus meeting this key milestone ahead of schedule. This topping-out marks a milestone in the project’s construction, securing valuable time for subsequent work and laying a solid foundation for achieving the project’s early delivery targets. The total construction area of the building complex in the front area of this project is 6,679 square meters, including main functional buildings such as a comprehensive office building, shift dormitories, and a cafeteria. During the construction process, in the face of adverse conditions such as severe sandstorms in northern Shaanxi during spring, a long and narrow construction site, various constraints, and difficulties in management, the project team made full use of the advantages of integrated design, procurement, and construction. Through thorough planning and coordinated management, they were able to keep the construction time for the superstructure at just 32 days, achieving a 20% improvement in efficiency compared to similar projects. The Yan’an LNG project of Yanchang Petroleum is a key energy infrastructure project in Shaanxi Province. Once completed, it will have a liquefaction capacity of 400,000 tons per year and a peak-shaving capacity of 40,000 cubic meters per hour, sufficient to meet Yan’an City’s gas needs for 15 days in emergency situations. As of now, the overall progress of the project has reached 62%, with key components such as the process unit area and the 50,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank complex under intensive construction. Once the project is put into operation, it will not only effectively address the issue of emergency natural gas reserves in Yan’an and its surrounding areas, but also reduce carbon emissions resulting from coal use. It will create employment opportunities locally, thereby providing new impetus for the upgrading of the energy structure and sustainable development in this historic revolutionary region.
