Recently, the results of the tender for preparing the environmental impact assessment report for Jingjiang Biomass Natural Gas Project by Guanglu Smart Energy (Jingjiang) Co., Ltd. were made public. Winner of the bid: Jiangsu Environmental Protection Industry Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. Project Overview:Developer: Guanglu Smart Energy (Jingjiang) Co., Ltd.
Location: No. 23 Xingang Avenue, Jingjiang City, Taizhou Province, Jiangsu Province.
Land area: Approximately 86 mu, including land reserved for Phase II (as indicated by the red line map).
Project name: Jingjiang Special Steel’s Near-Zero Carbon Emission Electric Furnace Supporting Bionatural Gas Project.
Nature of the project: New construction project.
The Jingjiang Special Steel’s Near-Zero Carbon Emission Electric Furnace Supporting Bionatural Gas Project uses livestock and poultry manure, wheat straw, and rice straw as raw materials to produce bionatural gas through a dry-high-temperature anaerobic fermentation process, with an output capacity of not less than 10 million Nm3 per year ; Biogas is transported using Jingjiang Special Steel’s existing pipeline framework and connected to the designated consumption points ; Zero wastewater discharge ; Land for Phase II is reserved. Biogas production facilities involve all the processes required from the arrival of raw materials such as manure and straw at the facility, up to the production of biogas and organic fertilizer that meet specified standards. These processes include, but are not limited to, raw material preprocessing (including pre-treatment of manure and straw), dry high-temperature anaerobic fermentation, biogas storage, biogas purification (dehydration and desulfurization), biogas compression, biogas decarburization, solid-liquid separation, and the comprehensive utilization of the CO2 emitted during decarburization. March 2025, Hong Kong — China Everbright Green Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. (\"Everbright Green Environmental Protection\" or \"the Company\") (Stock Code: 1257.HK) announced a partnership with CITIC Pacific Special Steel Jingjiang Special Steel Co., Ltd. (\\"Jingjiang Special Steel\"), formally signing the \"Cooperation Agreement on the Bio-natural Gas Project for Electric Furnaces with Near-zero Carbon Emissions at Jingjiang Special Steel\". This project aims to provide green natural gas for Jingjiang Special Steel’s products through advanced technologies for the value-added utilization of biomass, thereby helping the company to establish China’s first near-zero carbon green metallurgy industry chain and achieve a low-carbon transformation. It also represents a significant breakthrough by Everbright Green Environmental Protection in the field of value-added utilization of biomass. This project is located in the Jingjiang Development Zone of Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. The total investment in the project is approximately 60 million yuan, and it covers an area of about 80 mu. Its designed capacity is to produce 10 million cubic meters of green natural gas per year; it can also process around 50,000 tons of biomass per year, thereby reducing carbon emissions by about 12,000 tons. The project adopts high-temperature multi-material anaerobic fermentation technology as its core process, combined with advanced techniques such as dry desulfurization, chemical decarbonization, and advanced dehydration, to ultimately supply gas through a pipeline network, ensuring the efficient and clean use of energy. As a model project in the field of biomass energy, its successful implementation will help Everbright Green Environmental Protection further expand the market for high-value utilization of biomass, while also providing a model for supporting facilities needed for the green transformation of the traditional metallurgy industry.
