Technological upgrade project of Wuxi Hengheng Silica Company Limited to produce 120,000 tons of liquid water glass from rice husk ash

Wuxi Hengheng Silica White Co., Ltd. is conducting the first public announcement for the environmental impact assessment of its technical upgrade project aimed at producing 120,000 tons of liquid water glass from rice husk ash. The construction site for this project is located in the New Materials Industrial Park, Donggang Town, Xishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. The main work involved renovating 7,996.2 square meters of the original sodium silicate workshop and packaging area, as well as 2,987.7 square meters of the original quartz sand storage area. Equipment such as belt conveyors for transporting rice husk ash, feeders for rice husk ash, bag-breaking machines, feeding scales for rice husk ash, reactors for liquid sodium silicate production, mixing tanks for sodium silicate, box-type filter presses, exhaust fans, and compressed air machines were purchased. Liquid water glass is produced by reacting rice husk ash with caustic soda, thereby replacing the liquid water glass that was previously produced from quartz sand; this liquid water glass is then used as a raw material in the production of silica via the precipitation method. Upon completion of the project, the plant’s production capacity will remain at 120,000 tons per year of liquid water glass and 20,000 tons per year of silica produced by precipitation method.
