Recently, at 7:30 p.m., the first section of the regenerator, a key piece of equipment for the Dongming Petrochemical UPC project manufactured by CNPC Sixth Construction Equipment Manufacturing Branch, was successfully lifted into place. The successful lifting and installation of the first section of the regenerator has set a good start for subsequent work. It is reported that the first section of the cylinder lifted this time has a diameter of 13.7 meters and weighs 550 tons; its precise installation marks the full entry of the 300,000 tons/year UPC test facility into the final installation phase. The regenerator has an overall diameter of 17.9 meters and a height of 38.9 meters; its metal weight is 1,661 tons. It is the largest diameter pressure vessel ever manufactured to date by CNPC No. 6 Construction Equipment Manufacturing Branch.

Furthermore, to address the challenges of large welding volumes, complex internal structures, and long construction periods in this section, the project team adopted a modular manufacturing approach. By precisely segmenting the process based on the equipment specifications and lifting conditions, as well as by carrying out centralized assembly and welding of the internal components, the risks associated with working at heights are effectively transformed into controllable operations on the ground, thereby significantly improving manufacturing and installation efficiency. Through precise control during the manufacturing process, the diameter of the circles centered on the 80 bolt holes of the regenerator skirt, as well as the deviation in the chord lengths between these holes, were all kept within 2 millimeters. This ensured a 100% accurate fit with the foundation bolts, allowing for a successful installation in just one attempt, without any need for adjustments. The Dongming Petrochemical UPC project is officially known as the 300,000-ton/year UPC technology demonstration project, and it utilizes a world-first technology for producing olefins through super-catalytic cracking of crude oil. **The largest single high-end manufacturing project in Heze City, as approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, has been designated as a model project for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development in Shandong Province. In April 2023, the comprehensive construction of the infrastructure began, and the design approval for the supporting facilities was completed in May 2025. With a total investment of 22 billion yuan and an area of 2,800 mu, it is expected to generate annual revenue of 56 billion yuan upon completion.
