In late March 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the 110 kV substation of Gansu Yaowang’s project for the comprehensive utilization of waste salt resources, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of caustic soda and 300,000 tons of mercury-free PVC. This substation plays an essential role in the power supply system that supports the operation of the entire chemical plant. Once the installation and commissioning of the main transformer and related equipment are completed, it will provide a stable and sufficient power supply for the individual units of Yaowang Chemical’s plants, as well as for their normal operation and achievement of full production capacity, thereby further enhancing the reliability of power supply. Once the Yaowang Comprehensive Utilization Project for Waste Salt Resources is completed and put into operation, it will effectively address the issue of waste salt disposal in the chemical industry park in Lanzhou New Area. It will also supply basic chemical products, contributing to environmental safety and facilitating the centralized disposal of industrial waste salt within the park, thereby promoting the sustainable economic development of the area. Once the project is operational, it will be able to process 300,000 tons of industrial waste salt per year, producing 300,000 tons of caustic soda and 300,000 tons of mercury-free PVC.
In late November 2025, the Gansu Yaowang project for the comprehensive utilization of waste salt, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of caustic soda and 300,000 tons of mercury-free PVC, was put into operation successfully. This marked the successful completion of the project construction, injecting new momentum into the development of the chemical industry in Lanzhou New Area. The project is located in Lanzhou New Area and is one of the projects approved at the 29th Lanzhou Investment Promotion Fair. It consists of five separate buildings: a comprehensive office building, a central control room, a cafeteria and bathrooms, a central laboratory, as well as a facility for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance and storage of spare parts. The completion of this project will play an important role in promoting the upgrading of the chemical industry in Lanzhou New Area and the optimization of the regional economic structure.
