Today, while watching TV, people by the sea mentioned this word when talking about the local specialties of their hometown
Ship freezing refers to the process where seafood is caught and brought aboard the ship; after sorting, it is immediately frozen at ultra-low temperatures on board, thereby preserving its freshness in the shortest possible time and ensuring that the seafood maintains a truly \"fresh\" quality.
【Ship freezing and shore freezing】 Based on the location where seafood is frozen, it can be divided into ship freezing and shore freezing. Most fish is frozen on large ocean-going fishing vessels, and many imported seafood products are also frozen this way. These ships are essentially makeshift processing plants at sea; after the seafood is caught, it is first simply sorted, with the less valuable items discarded, while the more valuable seafood is sent to cold storage for freezing. Do you know these terms for seafood: frozen, quick-frozen, raw-frozen, cooked-frozen, ship-frozen, and shore-frozen? Opposite to ship freezing is shore freezing, which is common in nearshore fishing. On the fishing boat, crushed ice is used to keep the seafood at a low temperature, and once it arrives at shore, it is taken to a processing plant for freezing. Since seafood dies easily once taken out of water and is compressed against each other in the cargo hold, the preservation effect achieved by freezing on land is not as good as that achieved by freezing on board.
