Meijin Energy’s 10.98-billion-yuan tender for a 300,000-ton green methanol integrated project in Lingwu, Ningxia

On December 1, the China Tendering and Bidding Public Service Platform issued a tender announcement for the 300,000-ton green methanol integrated project in Lingwu, Ningxia, operated by Shanxi Jinyuan Bioenergy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Meijin Energy Group (hereinafter referred to as “Jinyuan Bio”). The tender relates to the first phase of this project, which involves the production of 200,000 tons of green methanol. The total investment for the project is 10.98 billion yuan, with the investment for Phase 1 amounting to 3.268 billion yuan. The project is located in the High-Tech Development Zone of Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province. It utilizes biomass fermentation to produce biogas, and then combines this biogas with water electrolysis to produce hydrogen for the synthesis of methanol. The main components of this project include the production of biogas from biomass, long-distance pipelines for transporting biogas, and the conversion of biogas into methanol. The planned start date for the project is January 1, 2026, with completion expected by the end of December 2027.
