On December 9, a pre-submission public notice for the environmental impact assessment of Hubei Lianchang New Materials Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 12,500 tons of fluorine-containing intermediates per year was released. The details of the project are as follows: Project name: Hubei Lianchang New Materials Co., Ltd. – 12,500 tons per year production facility for fluorine-containing intermediates. Location of the project: Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province. Developer: Hubei Lianchang New Materials Co., Ltd. Investment amount: 225 million yuan. Project scope: Construction of a Class A factory building; renovation of existing factories to add production lines for fluorine-containing intermediates and for processing by-products; along with the construction of necessary supporting facilities. Upon completion of the project, it will produce 12,500 tons per year of fluorine-containing intermediates and 29,550 tons per year of by-products. Of these, 2-chloro-4-fluorobenzene is 1200 tons per year, 2-chloro-4-fluorobenzoyl chloride is 1500 tons per year, 2-chloro-6-fluorotoluene is 500 tons per year, 2-chloro-6-fluorobenzaldehyde is 500 tons per year, pentachloro-o-xylene is 3000 tons per year, o-trifluoromethylbenzamide is 2000 tons per year, o-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid is 300 tons per year, 4,4’-difluorodiphenylmethane is 1000 tons per year, 2,4’-difluorobenzophenone is 1500 tons per year, and p-fluorobenzaldehyde is 1000 tons per year ; By-product: 31% hydrochloric acid at 23,867.6 tons per year; 92.5% sulfuric acid at 4,795.3 tons per year; 40% hydrofluoric acid at 2,021.6 tons per year; sodium fluoride at 2,113.5 tons per year; sodium hypochlorite at 441.8 tons per year.
