It was recently reported that the environmental impact assessment documents for Inner Mongolia Bensixing Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 47,320 tons per year of pesticide intermediates and active ingredients (Phase II of the project) have been put up for public review. The period for this public review begins on March 4, 2026, and will last for 10 working days. According to the public information, the developer stated that Inner Mongolia Benshing Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary established by Hubei Benshing New Materials Co., Ltd. in Alxa League, Inner Mongolia, through its subsidiary Hubei Benshing Agrochemical Co., Ltd. The main business scope is the production and sale of pesticides ； Sale of agricultural production materials ； Sales of chemical products ； Import and export of goods, import and export of technology. The plants are currently producing the following products on a regular basis: sodium triclopyr at 10,000 tons per year, methyl thiazole at 5,000 tons per year, chlorpyrifos at 15,000 tons per year, tebuconazole epoxide at 10,000 tons per year, tebuconazole at 5,000 tons per year, and thiamethoxam at 5,000 tons per year. Chlorpyrifos, tebuconazole, and thiamethoxam are pesticide active ingredients; chlorpyrifos belongs to the organophosphate class of insecticides, tebuconazole belongs to the heterocyclic class, and thiamethoxam belongs to the nicotine class of insecticides. The approved ”Thiamethoxam Project” has been constructed and is currently under acceptance (with a production capacity of 2,000 tons per year for thiamethoxam). The ”Acetochlor Project” and the ”Project for the Production of 49,000 tons of Fine Chemicals per Year” have also received approval but have not yet been built. “The \"Project for an annual production capacity of 47,320 tons of pesticide intermediates and active ingredients\" has received a project registration notice from the Administrative Approval and Government Services Bureau of Alxa High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. The project will be constructed in two phases: Phase 1 involves an investment of 200 million yuan to build facilities for producing 15,000 tons of methylthiazole and 10,860 tons of hydrochloride per year, along with production workshops and related supporting facilities ； The second phase of investment amounts to 300 million yuan, which will be used to build facilities for producing 6,000 tons per year of chlorantraniliprole, 5,770 tons per year of sodium chloride, 1,690 tons per year of phosphorous acid, 5,850 tons per year of triethylamine, and 2,150 tons per year of hydrochloric acid, as well as production workshops, warehouses, tank areas, and related supporting facilities.
