According to Sinochem New Network, on December 11, a seminar on the high-quality development of the \"polymer\" industry and an industry alliance conference were held in Hebi City, Henan Province. The experts present engaged in in-depth discussions on the current development status and future development paths of the industries related to polyurethane, polyoxymethylene, and polylactic acid (collectively referred to as “the three polymers”). At the meeting, the leaders of enterprises such as Meirui, Longyu, and Huiyang, which are part of the \"Sanju\" group, said that they needed to face challenges head-on and work together to drive the transformation of traditional industries toward higher quality and greener practices, thereby strengthening the \"Sanju\" industrial ecosystem. A relevant official from the Hebi municipal government stated that in recent years, leveraging its strong capabilities in the production of basic chemicals such as methanol and 1,4-butanediol, Hebi has focused on developing industrial chains related to the \"polyurethane, polyoxymethylene, and biodegradable polymers\" sector, as well as the daily chemical industry and the rubber additive industry, achieving significant results. Speaking on the current development of polyurethanes, Lu Guohui, secretary-general of the China Polyurethane Industry Association, said that at present, China leads the world in terms of production capacity for polyurethane raw materials; its downstream markets are continuously expanding; its core technologies have reached international advanced levels; and its industrial structure is constantly being optimized. However, it also faces development challenges, such as a mismatch between innovation capacity and industrial scale, low-level homogeneous competition that undermines the industry’s profitability, the arduous task of achieving green and low-carbon transformation, high international trade barriers, and challenges to the resilience and security of industrial chains and supply chains. “We must see the problems as well as seize the opportunities. ”Lv Guohui believes that the adjustments in the global chemical industry have created significant room for the release of domestic production capacity. The polyurethane industry must seize the **continuous policy benefits to drive industrial development and technological advancement. Polyurethane companies should vigorously expand into emerging fields, focusing on areas such as new energy, photovoltaics, robotics, formaldehyde-free wood panels, medical-grade polyurethanes, and new materials for polyurethane-based roads. “In the past two years, a new material industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan has emerged in Baoshan Economic Development Zone of Hebi City. Leading projects such as Meirui Polyurethane and Longyu Polyoxymethylene have achieved breakthroughs, and the transformation driven by this \"black gold fission\" approach has further promoted the high-quality development of Henan’s chemical industry. ”Su Dong, executive vice president of the Henan Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, explained. At the meeting, 4 key projects were signed on a centralized basis, including Henan Dashu Industrial Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 110,000 tons of styrene-butadiene latex and 60,000 tons of nitrile latex per year, as well as Hebi Baolai Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 200,000 tons of polyaluminum chloride per year. Additionally, 5 projects related to the supply of upstream and downstream products were signed, such as the hydrochloric acid recycling project between Henan Meirui and Baolai Chemical, and the hydrochloric acid recycling project agreed upon between Henan Meirui and Haige Chemical.
