On December 25, the main yellow phosphorus production unit of the Baokang Chufeng relocation and technological upgrade project, which is a key component of the Xingfa Baokang Gucheng Phosphorus Chemical Industry Park, was successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in the construction of this industrial park and laying a solid foundation for the development of a phosphorus chemical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions in Xiangyang. Construction of this yellow phosphorus electric furnace facility began in September. “As the core component of the first-phase project, the yellow phosphorus electric furnace facility required us to assess risks in advance and develop contingency plans. We organized the construction team to work on sunny days and despite rain, striving hard to overcome the challenges related to the project timeline and achieving the completion of the main structure ahead of schedule. ”said Cheng Ming, project manager of the chemical plant relocation and technological upgrade project at Baokang Chufeng Chemical Co., Ltd. As a key initiative in the development of Xiangyang’s phosphorus chemical industry cluster worth hundreds of billions, the construction of the Xingfa Baokang Gucheng Phosphorus Chemical Industrial Park has seen task forces at both the city and county levels provide on-site support and take targeted actions. By working directly at the project site and employing methods such as list-based management and modular advancement, they enhance efficiency and address the specific needs of the project construction. It is reported that the Xingfa Baokang Gucheng Phosphorus Chemical Industry Park is an integrated phosphorus chemical project developed jointly by Baokang and Gucheng. With a total investment of 20 billion yuan and an area of 4,000 mu, it is implemented in four sub-projects. By leveraging Baokang’s abundant phosphorus ore resources and Gucheng’s well-developed industrial park infrastructure, this project aims to create the most advanced in terms of technology and the largest in scale among phosphorus chemical industry complexes in central China. Upon completion, the project will be able to produce 37,000 tons of yellow phosphorus, 60,000 tons of phosphoric acid, 30,000 tons of sodium tripolyphosphate, and 30,000 tons of sodium hexametaphosphate per year. This will significantly contribute to the transformation of Xiangyang’s phosphate chemical industry toward higher standards, greater sustainability, and more organized production structures. The project is expected to generate an annual output value of 30 billion yuan and tax revenues of 2 billion yuan, while also creating employment for over 2,000 people. At present, the construction of key facilities such as the project’s raw material warehouse and the plant for food-grade phosphates is being accelerated, with completion expected before the Spring Festival in 2026, followed by the equipment commissioning phase in April.
