The Nei*** Energy Bayannur 1.2 million tons of compacted coke and comprehensive utilization project is a large-scale energy and chemical project undertaken by **Energy Investment Group, which utilizes high-quality coal resources from abroad for further processing and transformation in order to promote local economic and social development. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases. Phase 1, which involves the production of 1.2 million tons per year of compacted coke as well as its comprehensive utilization, is a supplementary project to Phase 1, Line 1, with an estimated investment of 1.639 billion yuan. The project uses coking by-products and coke oven gas as raw materials to build a plant capable of producing 1.2 million tons of rammed coke per year, as well as a plant for converting coke oven gas into methanol with an annual production capacity of 120,000 tons, along with supporting facilities; the methanol production is expected to begin in January 2025. Once the project is put into operation, it will generate annual sales revenue of 1.93 billion yuan, an annual profit of 155 million yuan, and annual tax payments of 109 million yuan. It will also create 515 jobs locally, playing a significant role in promoting the economic and social development of the region. It is reported that Guoneng Bayannur Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., following the industrial development strategy of \"carbon – green hydrogen – green oxygen – green value-added chemicals,\" is actively formulating a long-term plan for the integrated development of traditional energy chemical industries and new energy sources, with the goal of producing 6 million tons of coke per year. At the same time, efforts are being made to develop facilities for the centralized processing of by-products, in order to produce an additional 400,000 tons of value-added chemical products per year. The estimated investment amount is around 22 billion yuan, with annual sales revenue reaching 13.5 billion yuan.
