Construction of Sichuan’s 3 billion-yuan battery-grade lithium carbonate project begins 2026-02-28 On February 24, the second phase of Sichuan Tianhua Times New Energy Lithium Battery Materials project was officially launched in the Ganmei Industrial Park. The total investment in the project is 3 billion yuan. It will primarily involve the construction of a production facility for battery-grade lithium carbonate using the sulfuric acid method, with spodumene as the raw material, along with related supporting facilities. Once completed, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide (which can be converted flexibly into 53,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate), as well as 60,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year. Completion is expected by the end of 2026, with operations starting in the first quarter of 2027.
