Recently, the first public announcement regarding the environmental impact assessment for Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd.’s 600,000 tons per year lithium iron phosphate production project was made. Project Overview: Project Name: 600,000 tons/year Lithium Iron Phosphate Project. Developer: Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd. Project Type: New construction. Location: Zone C of Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Yichang City, Hubei Province. Total Investment: 4,893,750,000 yuan. Scope and Scale of Construction: Using lithium iron phosphate and lithium carbonate as main raw materials, and employing a semi-solid-state process, a production facility capable of producing 600,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate per year will be built, along with the necessary auxiliary facilities. The main product is lithium iron phosphate cathode material, while the by-products are ammonium sulfate and carbon. Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd. was established in 1977 and is a key state-owned enterprise under the jurisdiction of Yichang City. Through nearly 50 years of hard work and development, it has grown into a leading comprehensive chemical group in China, with total assets exceeding 60 billion yuan and nearly 20,000 employees. It also owns the listed company Hubei Yihua (000422.sz). There are currently 25 main products, covering areas such as modern agriculture, new energy materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, and national defense and military industry. The total production capacity for fertilizers is 5 million tons, while the total production capacity for chemical products is 3 million tons.
