Recently, with the arrival of the last large-scale equipment at the aromatic compounds prefabrication plant of Jiujiang Petrochemical, the task of transporting such large equipment as part of Jiujiang Petrochemical’s 1.5 million tons per year aromatic compounds and refining expansion project was successfully completed. This cross-crane transportation of large-scale equipment includes 21 core units, with a total weight of approximately 3,600 tons. Starting from September 2025, the equipment will be shipped in batches from Xiangshan Port in Ningbo, Zhejiang, and will arrive in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, via water transport. The largest of these has a diameter of 8 meters, a maximum lifting height of 10.5 meters, and a maximum weight per unit of 300 tons. In view of the need to pass through various complex sections such as urban expressways and railway underpasses along the transportation route, Jiujiang Petrochemical established a specialized team for large-scale shipments to enhance coordination; from the initial planning stage to the actual transportation, seamless integration and efficient collaboration were ensured throughout the process. To address issues such as limited heights of railway culverts and obstructions caused by overpasses on expressways, the company worked together with shipping companies to carefully evaluate various solutions, in order to minimize the impact on road traffic and reduce logistics costs. The project team completed a thorough survey of the entire route in advance. Taking into account factors such as the height, length, and weight of the heavy equipment, they scientifically planned the route. During transportation, strict safety control measures were implemented to ensure that each piece of equipment arrived at the project site safely and smoothly.
