In 2026, during the 25th National “Safety Production Month”, everyone is encouraged to prioritize safety and be capable of responding to emergencies; efforts are also being made to identify and rectify potential risks and hazards. -------------------------------------------------- Recently, for the **project aimed at upgrading the MTP (Methanol-to-Propylene) process technology of Ningxia Coal Industry Co., Ltd., an energy group company**, all 28 pieces of critical equipment fabricated by Landsea Heavy Industry have entered the final stages of completion. This project utilizes China’s DMTO-III (third-generation methanol-to-olefins) technology to upgrade the MTP process; it represents a strategic initiative by Ningxia Coal Industry to promote the high-end, diversified, and low-carbon development of its industry. Lanshi Heavy Equipment undertook the manufacturing of key equipment for the project, including 28 towers for MTO, olefin separation, and butene-1 units. Among these, the quench tower/washing tower of the MTO unit has a maximum diameter of 12 meters, a height of nearly 90 meters, and a weight of around 1,300 tons. Currently, key projects under the technical upgrading and transformation project of Ningxia Coal Industry’s MTP process—such as MTP, LNG, and EVA—are progressing steadily according to the planned schedule. Civil construction, equipment installation, and project commissioning are being carried out in an orderly manner. The MTP renovation project’s MTO combined unit is entering the final stage ; The lifting of the polymerization reactor in the HDPE plant was successfully completed ; The construction of the underground pipes and main foundations for the LDPE plant is complete; the 110kV substation is ready to receive power, and the installation of utility systems has been finished ; The civil construction work for Phase 2 of polyoxymethylene production, as well as the projects related to the separation and reuse of concentrated saltwater, has been completed, and work has now shifted to the installation of equipment and pipelines ; The construction of technological innovation demonstration projects such as PAO and high-grade lubricants has been launched simultaneously ; Project OverviewProject Name: **Technical Upgrading and Transformation Project of the MTP Process at Ningxia Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Energy Group**
Nature of Construction: Technical upgrading
Constructing Entity: Ningxia Coal Industry Co., Ltd., Energy Group
Construction Location: The project is located in the Modern Coal Chemical Industry Demonstration Zone within the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base.
Project Investment: The total investment amounts to 11,793,390,000 yuan.
Land Area: The total land area covered by the project is 719,433.944 m² (71.94 hectares).
Industry Category: C2651 – Manufacturing of primary plastics and synthetic resins
Labor Force: A total of 726 personnel are required; all will be drawn from existing employees, with no new hires.
Working System: Five shifts operating in three cycles; there are 333 working days per year (8,000 hours).
Construction Scale: This project involves shutting down two existing MTP units and one PP production line (with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons). New facilities to be built include a DMTO and olefin separation unit with an annual capacity of 1.35 million tons (including a 18,000-ton/year 1-butene production unit), a 100,000-ton/year EVA production unit, a 300,000-ton/year LDPE production unit, and a 300,000-ton/year HDPE production unit. Product plan: This project uses methanol as a raw material to produce intermediate products such as polymer-grade ethylene, polymer-grade propylene, and mixed C4 hydrocarbons. These are then used as raw materials to manufacture products like EVA, LDPE, HDPE, and polypropylene. Additionally, the project generates by-products including propane, MTBE, butene-1, heavy C4 hydrocarbons, mixed C5 hydrocarbons, C6+, and fuel gas.
