This marked another key milestone in the project, as the 400-ton No. 1 loop reactor was accurately positioned after being lifted in a modular manner by Shaanxi Huajian Lifting Company. This project marked the first time that the company successfully carried out the modular lifting of a complete loop reactor, overcoming numerous technical challenges and achieving a new breakthrough in the lifting techniques for large-scale equipment. It is reported that the Ningxia Baofeng PP plant is equipped with two loop reactor units. The equipment No. 1 that was lifted this time weighs 400 tons in total; its main structure consists of 4 legs, each 48 meters long, along with top bends, forming a rectangular frame 51 meters long, with the entire structure being assembled using steel sections. This lifting operation involves assembling the four legs into a single integrated module for lifting; the biggest challenges are the placement of lifting points and maintaining structural stability. The leg pipes of this equipment have a diameter of only 0.8 meters and a wall thickness of 18 millimeters; its cylindrical structure is thin and its load-bearing capacity is limited, making it impossible to use the conventional double-hook lifting method for such equipment. Furthermore, to ensure the safety and controllability of the lifting process, the project’s lifting technology team carried out specialized technical research to optimize the structure and placement of the lifting lugs; the main lifting lug was positioned in the area of the external extension beam on the side of the equipment, while the stress-bearing areas of the cylinder wall were reinforced. At the same time, through finite element simulation analysis, a comprehensive verification is carried out on the overall stress on the equipment, its lifting stability, and deformation parameters, in order to finalize an optimized lifting plan.
