Recently, the results of the environmental protection inspection for the completion of the \"Phase 1 of the Project to Produce 3,000 tons per year of new silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium batteries\" carried out by Xuzhou Siainoid New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. were officially made public. The Phase 1 of this project has been completed, along with the construction of the necessary environmental protection facilities. The project is located in the Anhui (Huaibei) New Coal Chemical Synthesis Materials Base in Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. The total investment amount is 360 million yuan, of which 5 million yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures. According to the plan, the project will cover a total area of 60 mu. Its construction components include production workshops, an office building, a research, development and testing center, as well as warehousing facilities. The total floor area will be approximately 30,000 square meters. Additionally, production equipment such as fluidized bed CVD and rotary furnace CVD will be purchased as part of the project. According to the original environmental impact assessment plan, the project will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 covers an area of 36 mu, with construction of factory buildings covering a total floor area of 10,400 square meters; 70 sets of equipment will be purchased, and the plan is to achieve an annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of high-performance silicon-carbon anode materials ； Phase II covers an area of 24 mu, with construction of factory buildings and other facilities totaling 19,600 square meters; 130 sets of equipment will be purchased, aiming to achieve an annual production capacity of 2,000 tons of high-performance silicon-carbon anode materials. Upon completion of the project, it will have a production capacity of 3,000 tons of new silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium batteries. This acceptance announcement relates to Phase I of the project. To date, the project has completed the construction of one production line, along with the necessary auxiliary and environmental protection facilities, enabling an annual production capacity of 300 tons of new silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium batteries. As the remaining production lines are gradually built and put into operation, the project’s capacity will increase further. In terms of the production process, the project uses equipment such as fluidized-bed CVD and rotary-oven CVD to manufacture silicon-carbon anode materials. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is one of the key technological routes for the current industrialization of silicon-carbon anodes. Its core process involves depositing a nano-silicon layer onto the surface of carbon-based materials. By creating a silicon-carbon composite structure, this method enhances the specific capacity of the material while alleviating the volume expansion issue that occurs in silicon materials during charge and discharge cycles. In terms of the project construction schedule, the actual production capacity of Phase I, which has now passed the environmental protection inspection, is 300 tons per year. There is still room for further development to reach the planned capacity of 1,000 tons for Phase I. As the subsequent production lines are gradually completed and the Phase II project progresses, the planned production capacity of 3,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode materials will be realized in phases.
