A homemade boiler that uses residues from wood processing as fuel (such as wood shavings), and an exhaust fan is installed for environmental reasons. There is a question: is it okay to turn the boiler’s exhaust fan on and off intermittently? What are the harms of doing this? Since it is a clay boiler, the exhaust fan has to stay on constantly, which results in a lot of energy being lost through that fan. Is there any solution if the fan needs to be turned on and off from time to time? Thank you!

Add an air damper or a frequency converter in front of the exhaust fan
