SEI vs. Chengda, which to choose?

Let’s discuss it from the aspects of salary, household registration, home buying, company development, and personal growth. It’s just a discussion; it has nothing to do with the original poster. I just want to see how everyone makes their choices, hehe

I see that the PM in Chengdu is also quite high
As a supplier, I’ve been to both places once; the SEI building seems very old-fashioned, while the Chengda building is newer. I chose Chengda. ;P
From a long-term perspective, it’s still SEI
In terms of household registration and personal development, it’s wise to get a SEI status – there’s only one chance in a lifetime to obtain a Shanghai household registration. As for personal development, Shanghai has more companies, which means it will be easier to change jobs in the future with more options available
There are many opportunities in Shanghai, but it’s likely to be difficult to buy a house and settle down there. If you succeed in your career, it will be easier to do so; it ultimately depends on what plans you have for the future. But plans don’t change as quickly as reality does
Is SEI in Shanghai? Is it confirmed that it’s not Sinopec Beijing Engineering Company?
If there are more ambitious plans such as going abroad, one should consider looking for opportunities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, in which case SEI is the right choice. If you prefer a relatively comfortable life, Chengdu is a good place; moreover, the income there is not lower than that in SEI. I chose Chengda.
The income at Hua Ba is roughly similar to that at SEI; I spent a week at SEI and two weeks at Hua Ba. Although it’s a sensitive topic, I was able to find out the relevant information by being polite and asking questions. Housing prices in Chengdu are much lower than those in Beijing. At Hua Ba, the accommodation is provided free of charge for the initial period, and one can save enough money for a down payment after working diligently for two years as a recent graduate. Promotions are a matter of perspective – different people have different opinions on them. In Chengdu, the good schools for children are mostly private; there is no concept of school districts. Money can get you into such schools, but there is one major drawback: due to geographical factors in Sichuan (a large population with few good schools), and given the competition among various ethnic groups, the proportion of students who are admitted to top-tier universities has been the lowest in the country for 14 consecutive years. Compared to Beijing, where that figure is around 22%, in Sichuan it’s just over 1%. The situation regarding the college entrance examination is very challenging. However, further down Huabada, there is an international school with good teaching standards; that’s another option.
