What the original poster is trying to ask is: how can one tell, both visually and ***, the difference between old gaskets and new gaskets on valves?
They are of consistent standards and come from reputable manufacturers, so there are generally no issues. There are various types available, such as gasketing materials, wave-shaped gaskets, graphite gaskets, and octagonal gaskets. Haha
After removing the flanged valve, the gasket must be replaced with a new one.
