Pressure transmitter jump

The pressure in the reactor remained constant; the pressure transmitter was functioning correctly until it suddenly jumped to its maximum range, and after a few seconds it returned to showing the correct value. What causes this situation? How to solve it? Could it be a fault with the pressure transmitter itself?
