I’m wondering about the use of non-slam at the exhaust end of reciprocating compressors – is it meant to prevent vibration? I’d like to know more details. It seems that if it’s not a cushioned check valve, then is a swing check valve used instead? Why is a swing check valve used in some places rather than a cushioned check valve? Bro, I’m new here, so my questions might be silly.....
It is mainly the effect of pulsation that causes the valve disc to make frequent contact with the valve seat, reducing the lifespan of the check valve. Non-slam refers to reducing such collisions, and the double plate design is commonly used for this purpose
