The issue of determining salt content in water

Regarding the salt content in grade-1 water and reverse osmosis water, will using filter paper to filter the water before testing remove the salts from it? Also, is it necessary to cover the beaker when using a water bath to evaporate something dry?
Any quantitative filter paper will do; it definitely won’t cause any problems, as salt is soluble. It’s best to use a water bath, and there’s no need for that if there’s no dust present

Filter paper can only trap suspended solids and particles larger than its pore size; any substances dissolved in water will not be trapped by it. You should first understand the basic concepts of filter paper and filtration, and you should also be familiar with concepts such as the solubility of salts. As long as the salt does not precipitate in a solid state, the filter paper will not retain the dissolved salt on it.
Inorganic salts in water, such as calcium ions and magnesium ions, certainly cannot be filtered out using filter paper, whether for quantitative or qualitative analysis.
