Does electric heating in Zone 2 with explosion protection also need to be explosion-proof? If it needs to be done, how exactly should it be done?
Of course, explosion protection is needed! The explosion protection rating just needs to meet the requirements of the instrument! It’s either ExdIIBT4 or ExdIICT4 – the choice depends on the explosion protection classification of your equipment. You determine whether it falls under category B or C based on the group to which the hazardous gas belongs; if hydrogen or acetylene is present, choose C, while if neither is present, then B is sufficient. Of course, you can also just press ExdIICT4.
