Is it necessary to use an ultrafiltration membrane in the MBR (external ultrafiltration) + Fenton process?

There is currently a leachate treatment scheme in which the wastewater undergoes preliminary biological treatment before entering the MBR tank; the MBR uses ultrafiltration membranes for solid-liquid separation. Currently, the common advanced treatment processes are NF/RO; this proposal aims to use Fenton oxidation in order to avoid the generation of concentrated waste fluid (with less water volume). The question now is: since ultrafiltration is generally used as a pre-treatment for NF and RO, is it necessary to include this ultrafiltration step before the Fenton process?
Generally speaking, the water quality of the effluent obtained after biological treatment of wastewater followed by MBR treatment is very good. If high-density precipitation is used to remove hardness, or Fenton oxidation is employed to reduce COD during further treatment, then the SS level in the water will increase; therefore, ultrafiltration is necessary before the water enters the RO system. . . . . .
