How do various units handle the floating oil on the surface of the cold coking water in coking plants? The deterioration of the quality of cold coke water affects the efficiency of cold coking or the quality of the coke – how do you address this issue? I would appreciate it if the experts could provide some answers.
How do various units handle the floating oil on the surface of the cold coking water in coking plants? Depending on the oil content in the cold coker water, floating oil is removed regularly and sent to the tank farm or wastewater treatment plant. The deterioration of the quality of cold coke water affects the efficiency of cold coking or the quality of the coke – how do you address this issue? When the quality of coke products is affected, the first step is to regularly replace the cold coke water, and the second is to avoid reusing wastewater or other water sources with poor quality as much as possible.
After precipitation in the thermal coking water tank, it overflows into the sludge oil tank; the sludge oil is separated from water and heated to serve as quench oil in the coke tower
On our end, we use a recycling system: when there is too much oil, we remove it by skimming; and when the water quality deteriorates, we replace the water.

The cold coke water is pumped to the hot water tank through flushing, then to the cold water tank to recover the floating oil for use as quench oil
