I need advice on the treatment of methanol wastewater; please help me out, experts.

Our factory mainly produces methanol. The wastewater treatment process consists of a regulating tank, sedimentation, an immobilized biological filter, and advanced treatment. Currently, the COD level in the incoming wastewater is around 1000 mg/l, while the ammonia nitrogen level is 200 mg/l. The COD level in the treated water is 150 mg/l, and the ammonia nitrogen level is 30 mg/l. The designed treatment capacity is 120 m3/h, but the actual treatment capacity is currently 60 m3/h. The dissolved oxygen level is 6 mg/l. Why can’t these parameters be reduced? ? ? I hope the experts here can offer some guidance.
It seems renovation is needed; let’s first conduct some small-scale experiments to see how things go
