During the disassembly inspection of the core island residual heat removal pump, an object resembling an impeller was found on the outer ring of the impeller; it was fixed to the pump cover using bolts and lock nuts. I’m not sure what this is called Is its function to increase pressure for the impeller or to guide the flow?
Are you referring to the auxiliary impeller? Axial force balanced
It’s best to take a look at the image. The part with blades that is fixed to the pump cover must be the guide vane; its main function is to capture energy.
The outer ring at the outlet of the impeller is likely to be guide vanes, while the back side of the impeller may have an auxiliary impeller
Can’t take pictures. There are no pictures. Anyway, the impeller is inside this component; it looks a bit like an impeller, but it’s fixed to the pump cover with bolts
