This process successfully passed the evaluation by a panel of experts organized by the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association. Gu Zongqin, vice president of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and chairman of the board of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, along with several other industry experts, as well as Zheng Gaofao, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., and Fan Diancai, executive vice general manager, attended the meeting; project-related technical personnel were also present. The experts first visited the main control room of the space furnace system as well as the ECOSA sulfur recovery plant used for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) acid production, to observe on-site the production operations and equipment performance. They then listened to a presentation by the project leader regarding the process design, construction, and operation of the project. After thorough analysis and discussion, the experts present concluded that the device complies with **relevant regulations, features advanced technology, holds guiding significance for the recovery and utilization of acidic gases in China, and offers significant benefits in terms of energy conservation and environmental protection. It is reported that the project was designed by Keyang Environmental Engineering (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., while Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for its construction and operation. It is the first of its kind in the country; the completion and operation of this facility have broken the long-standing monopoly held by foreign companies over the wet-process sulfuric acid production method using sulfuric acid-containing gas exhaust.
It seems much better than purchasing entire foreign process packages; it allows savings of tens of millions of dollars or euros in foreign exchange each year. Once each technology is localized, it faces malicious attacks, damage, and aggressive price cuts from foreign process suppliers, but that trend is now over!
